MySpecs - Basic Functions

Deleting a listing in MySpecs

To delete a specification from the MySpecs folder, click on the delete icon.  You will be asked if you're sure if you want to delete the spec before it is permanently deleted**

**Remember that the Myspecs folder is a virtual folder; documents in your folder are not literally copied to your MySpecs folder nor really deleted.  In reality you are adding and deleting shortcuts to your most needed public works documents.

Viewing the Document

There are options when it comes to viewing options.  There are also different methods we employ to bring our members documents.

For documents that have been made available online by a city, county or state's website, we link to the page where you, the user, can download the enitre document or view a table of documents.  A link to an external website is denoted by a blue arrow icon in the Download column of the spec listing.  This all sounds really complicated but if you just look at any listed document, it will be clear.  When you click the 'link', another page (or tab) will open up to load the new website.

Documents that have been scanned by USspecbook.com and provided online are denoted by an old school floppy disk.  Since the last time any of you have used a 3.5" floppy disk was probably 1998, we've placed the icon up above for the refreshment of your memory.  We're thinking of just switching to an arrow icon pointing down...if you have an opinion feel free email me.

Organizing MySpecs (adding a new project)

In addition to viewing and deleting documents, USspecbook members can manage multiple documents by grouping them together using Project Folders.   Members can add as many project folders as then need and group them accordings.
