In 1977, the Crystal Mountain Sewer District formed to oversee general wastewater management needs of the Crystal Mountain community. The District service area encompasses approximately 380 acres in the upper Silver Creek watershed. The service area includes a large portion of the Crystal Mountain ski slopes and all existing base facilities. The west boundary of the service area extends approximately two-thirds up the slope from the base area. The south boundary extends part way up the ski slope to the southern extent of the existing ski lifts. The east boundary runs along the top of the ridge above Crystal Mountain Boulevard. The north boundary is located just beyond existing development, approximately 2 miles north of the Crystal Mountain base area.
